Crime On The Rise In Merseyside

Between 2011 and 2015, burglaries in the Merseyside area had decreased by about 20%. After 5 years of falling reported burglaries, 2016 has gone against the trend and the number of burglaries has risen by nearly 5% from the previous year; that’s 32475 burglary/theft related crimes in Merseyside alone, that’s about 89 each day! The signs are that burglaries in 2017 are to rise again.

Some areas within Merseyside have significantly higher crime rates than others. Hotspots for burglaries are Wallasey and Birkenhead on the Wirral and around Bootle and Anfield in Liverpool.

To highlight the increasing rate of burglaries we, Peninsula Electrical, have created an infographic to highlight these stats and to help make people aware of how they are increasing. The infographic is below; please feel free to share on social media to spread the word.

At Peninsula Electrical we specialise in security alarms and CCTV installations which, unfortunately, are necessities in today’s society. Having a good working alarm system and a CCTV infrastructure are good deterrents against burglaries but also provides peace of mind that your home is more secure.
